MIN Li and Xiaoyu are the creative duo behind YVMIN, an experimental Chinese jewellery brand founded in 2013. Both graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2012 and established their studio shortly afterward, bringing together backgrounds in fashion, jewellery and object design.
YVMIN describes itself as a “body-decoration laboratory” rather than a conventional fashion brand. Its work combines unconventional materials, inventive ways of wearing jewellery and a curiosity about the relationship between the body, technology and beauty. Earrings, eyewear, headpieces and sculptural objects often blur the line between accessory, art object and wearable experiment.
The duo’s most distinctive projects have pushed that idea into new territory. Their work has included decorative prosthetic pieces created in collaboration with model and influencer Xiao Yang, reframing a medical object as a site for fashion, identity and self-expression. Over more than a decade, YVMIN has become one of the clearest examples of how contemporary Chinese jewellery can operate far beyond traditional notions of preciousness. The brand’s futuristic yet romantic language has helped position it within an international conversation around wearable art, body culture and experimental design.
