- Description
Samuel Yang and Erik Litzén are the creative partners behind SAMUEL GUÌ YANG, a fashion label based between London and Shanghai. Raised in Guangdong and Stockholm respectively, the pair met while studying on Central Saint Martins’ MA Fashion programme and graduated in 2015. Yang founded the label in London that same year, with Litzén joining in 2017 as his creative partner.
Together, they bring Chinese and Western references into conversation, combining historical dress codes and traditional craft with contemporary tailoring, material exploration and a precise approach to silhouette. Their different cultural backgrounds are central to the brand’s identity but never treated as a simple East-meets-West formula. Instead, the duo builds collections through subtle references, construction and proportion, creating a sophisticated visual language that has helped broaden international understanding of contemporary Chinese fashion.
The pair were semi-finalists for the LVMH Prize in 2020.
