Aurélien Guichard is a Grasse-born perfumer and the founder of MATIERE PREMIERE, who brings a rare grower's perspective to contemporary fragrance by cultivating his own flowers and building compositions around exceptional natural ingredients. Born into a family of flower growers and perfume creators spanning several generations, he grew up between Paris and Grasse and works between studios in both cities.

He has signed fragrances for houses including Gucci, Burberry, Versace and Narciso Rodriguez, among them Burberry Hero, Versace Eros, Gucci Guilty and Narciso Rodriguez Narciso, and continues to create for brands within Takasago. In 2016, he established his own perfume plant farm in the Grasse region, growing centifolia rose, tuberose and lavandin.

He founded MATIERE PREMIERE in 2019, where he serves as Creative Director and Perfumer. Each fragrance is built around an overdose of a central raw material, and the brand celebrates French perfume craftsmanship by preserving local cultivation and savoir-faire. MATIERE PREMIERE is now present in 50 countries.
