- Description
Mark Gong is the founder and designer of MARKGONG, the womenswear label he launched in 2018 after studying fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York. In the years since, the label has emerged as one of Shanghai fashion's hottest names.
Born in China, Gong moved to the United States as a teenager to attend Midland School in Los Olivos, California. That experience across cultures continues to inform the label, which defines its customer as the GONG GIRL: globally minded, independent and unwilling to dress according to anyone else's expectations.
The brand shows in New York and Shanghai and has developed an increasingly international following, with fans including Lisa and Jennie of BLACKPINK, Margot Robbie, Doja Cat and Rihanna. The GONG GIRL has become as much an attitude as a customer archetype, helping make Gong one of the most closely watched designers of his generation.
