Dennis Chan is the founder and creative director of Qeelin, the fine jewelry house he built around a single ambition: to bring the best of China to the world. Its designs reinterpret Chinese symbols and art through a contemporary lens, paired with Western craftsmanship.
Chan trained at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and began his design career in London before returning to Hong Kong. In 1989, he founded Longford, a consultancy serving international brands and institutions. His commissions include the wristwatch presented by the Hong Kong government to VIPs at the 1997 handover and the 33-meter Millennium Clock Tower, while his work has been exhibited at the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
With Qeelin, Chan helped pioneer a new language for contemporary Chinese luxury, translating culturally specific symbols into fine jewelry with international relevance. He has since extended his practice into photography, film and sculpture, including the HAHA PANDA art platform.
