Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang founded SHUSHU/TONG in 2015 after both completing MA studies in womenswear at London College of Fashion. Before launching the label, Lei and Jiang gained experience at Simone Rocha and Gareth Pugh respectively, bringing contrasting references into a shared design language they describe as “bold and feminine.”
The brand is built around an unabashed celebration of femininity. Ruffles, bows, romantic silhouettes and precise tailoring recur throughout its collections, while the designers continually explore the space between girlhood and adulthood. Their clothes embrace sweetness and decoration as sources of confidence rather than something that needs to be undercut or explained away.
SHUSHU/TONG gained Lane Crawford as a stockist from its first season and expanded into an international retail network that has included Dover Street Market, Opening Ceremony, 10 Corso Como and H.Lorenzo. Over the past decade, the duo have built one of China’s most recognizable fashion signatures, with a visual language that resonates globally while remaining unmistakably their own.
