Shanghai specialties share room with Hong Kong classics at Ming Court
Shanghai dim sum lovers rejoice: Hong Kong's twin Michelin-starred hotspot Ming Court (明阁餐厅) has soft-opened at the swish Langham Hotel. Located on the fifth floor, Ming Court is now accepting diners for its nine private rooms, which look out over Taiping Lake and Xintiandi. Ming Court Shanghai is worlds away from your average dim sum spot, with waiters decked out in uniforms created by renowned local fashion designer Lu Kun (陆坤) and an inventive, localized menu that offers Shanghainese specialties alongside Hong Kong classics re-imagined by Chef Kwong (T'ang Court). Ming Court Shanghai also offers touches like Chinese tea service (in its private rooms) and has a sommelier on hand to pair the right reds and whites with your high-end har gao.
Now in soft opening, Ming Court will open an additional 24-person dining area next month, with plans to open an outdoor bar area at the end of April.
