China clears Anta’s 29.06% Puma purchase

China’s State Administration for Market Regulation has unconditionally approved Anta Sports’ acquisition of a stake in Puma, according to a list of concentration cases published on September 11. The case was cleared on August 31, meaning regulators imposed no divestitures or other remedies. Anta announced in January that it would buy 29.06% of Puma from Groupe Artémis, the Pinault family’s investment company, for 1.5 billion euros ($1.74 billion) in cash from internal reserves. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to remaining approvals, and would make Anta Puma’s single largest shareholder.
