Hermès brings ‘In the Making’ craft tour to Shanghai

The Hermès “In the Making” global tour will present its 15th stop at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from May 17 to 24, 2026. Artisans from nearly 10 product categories will demonstrate saddle-making, silk scarf printing, porcelain painting, gem setting, leather crafting and watch assembly. Since 1837, six generations of artisans have preserved traditional craftsmanship within Hermès. The exhibition highlights the brand’s philosophy of creating durable, repairable heirlooms — over 200,000 items are brought to stores for repair each year. All bags are handcrafted in France, and mastering silk-screen printing takes three years.
