Sawe clocked 1:59:30, while fellow Adidas athlete Yomif Kejelcha also broke the barrier with 1:59:41, and Tigst Assefa simultaneously shattered the women’s world record. The 97g shoe improves running economy by 1.6% and retails at $500 — it is now fetching resale prices as high as $5,500, cementing Adidas’ lead over Nike in the performance running category.
