BYD Yangwang only Chinese brand in luxury car top 20

Chinese automotive blogger Tongkuai Shuchang released the sales ranking of million-yuan-level ($143,400) luxury cars in the Chinese market for 2025. Among the top 20 models, BYD’s Yangwang U8L and U8 SUVs were the only Chinese cars included. The Yangwang U8L ranked 15th with 1,538 units sold, and the Yangwang U8 ranked 16th with 1,112 units sold. The remaining spots were occupied by foreign luxury brands such as Porsche, Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz. In 2025, the average price of luxury cars was 358,000 RMB ($51,300), down from 376,000 RMB ($53,900) in 2024.
