Fairfax raises Under Armour stake to 22%

Under Armour’s stock climbed on January 6 after Canadian investment firm Fairfax Financial Holdings disclosed it raised its stake in the sportswear company to 22.2%. The holding represents about 41.96 million Class A shares. Following the disclosure, Under Armour’s share price increased roughly 4.2% in after-hours trading. Fairfax Financial, led by investor Prem Watsa, first reported a 9% stake in Under Armour in December 2025, and has since raised its holding twice — to 16.1% and then to the current 22.2%. The firm stated the investment is for long-term purposes and may adjust its position based on market conditions. Under Armour’s market capitalization currently hovers around $2 billion.
