Chanel opens art library at Shanghai museum

The Espace Gabrielle Chanel, featuring mainland China’s first public-facing contemporary art library, opened November 25 on the third floor of the Power Station of Art in Shanghai. The space stems from a long-term strategic partnership between Chanel and the museum forged earlier in 2024. The art library houses over 50,000 books and audiobooks on art, design, architecture, and social sciences, with more than 10,000 volumes currently accessible. This collaboration builds upon the “New Culture Producers” program, launched at PSA in July 2021 as the first initiative of the Chanel Culture Fund in Asia.
