Chinese fast fashion platform Shein has postponed the planned opening of five new franchise stores in France following customer feedback that in-store prices at its Paris location were higher than online. The company is adjusting its strategy and has not set new opening dates. Last week, Shein opened its first French physical store in Paris’ BHV Marais department store, operated with retail group SGM. The brand was scheduled to open five additional locations in Galeries Lafayette stores across Dijon, Reims, Grenoble, Angers, and Limoges. Shein stated it is “focusing on optimizing the customer experience” at its Paris store before proceeding with further expansion.
