Authentic Brands Group (ABG) is in exclusive negotiations to acquire Italian luxury house Missoni, following its failed talks with LVMH over Marc Jacobs. A deal is expected to be finalized by year-end. Missoni is currently 58.8% owned by the founding family, with Fondo Strategico Italiano holding 41.2%. The brand has shown strong financial improvement under CEO Livio Proli, with EBITDA surging from 2.1 million euros ($2.3 million) to 16.6 million euros ($18.4 million) in 2024 despite a slight revenue dip to 120 million euros ($133 million). The acquisition aligns with ABG’s strategy to expand into luxury, following its recent formation of Authentic Luxury Group with Saks Global.
