Milan court places Loro Piana under administration over labor abuse
Italian luxury brand Loro Piana has been placed under a one-year judicial administration order by a Milan court following allegations of labor exploitation within its supply chain. According to prosecutor Paolo Storari, Loro Piana outsourced garment production to Evergreen, which subcontracted work to Sor-Man factory in Nova Milanese. Authorities allege workers were subjected to exploitative conditions in unsafe environments violating health and safety regulations. Media reports claim Loro Piana’s cashmere jackets, which sell for 3,000 euros ($3,504), were produced at a cost of just 100 euros ($117) by subcontractors. The company denied these claims.
