Maserati dealers in China are offering steep discounts on the Grecale SUV, with prices falling from the original 650,800 RMB ($90,400) to as low as 369,600 RMB ($51,300), a drop of nearly 43%. One Shanghai dealership confirmed the promotion was a dealer-led clearance effort, unrelated to the brand’s official pricing, with sales exceeding 10 units in just two days. Once seen as a symbol of status, Maserati has struggled in China. Sales fell from a 2017 peak of 14,400 units to just 1,228 in 2024, with only 384 units sold in the first five months of 2025. Globally, Maserati’s 2024 sales dropped 57% to 11,300 units, contributing to an operating loss of 260 million euros ($304 million).
