Lincoln China denies merger rumors amid sales slump

In response to rumors that “Lincoln will be merged into Ford China,” Lincoln China stated on December 29 that starting next year (2025), Lincoln’s financial settlement system will be incorporated into Ford China. This move aims to simplify and integrate the complex internal financial systems to achieve more efficient internal operations. “Lincoln China’s business operations will remain unchanged and will continue to operate independently in the Chinese market as a wholly foreign-owned enterprise fully owned by the Ford Group.” Last week, rumors circulated that Lincoln’s domestic sales, marketing, and customer service functions would be merged into Ford China. In November of this year, Lincoln’s sales in China amounted to only 4,251 units, a YoY decrease of 37.2%. From January to November, the cumulative sales reached 48,300 units, marking a YoY decline of 17.7%.
