LVMH’s Thélios acquires stake in German eyewear maker Mykita
LVMH Group has acquired a minority stake in German eyewear manufacturer Mykita through its eyewear division, Thélios, further expanding its influence in the eyewear market. The specific details of the transaction have not been disclosed. According to a joint statement from both companies, Mykita will remain fully independent in its operations, strategy, and creative processes. Established in 2003, Mykita is known for its handcrafted eyewear and innovative materials. In 2022, the brand fully transitioned to using bio-based Acetate Renew, becoming the first to use 100% of this material in its products. In 2023, Mykita announced that at least 90% of the stainless steel used in its iconic frames is recycled, making a significant step toward circular sustainability.
