Young Chinese join winter migration to warmer cities
Data from online travel agency Qunar shows that this winter, the number of hotel bookings for stays longer than one month in southern destinations has doubled YoY. Notably, in addition to the usual elderly travelers, many young people have joined the ranks of “snowbirds” this year. The data reveals that among hotel bookings for stays between November 2023 and the end of January 2024 lasting more than one month, orders from users aged 25 to 30 have increased the most, growing 2.5 times compared to 2019.
