Birkenstock opened its first new concept store in Southwest China on October 17 at Chengdu Taikoo Li. The store’s design incorporates natural elements inspired by local Sichuan culture, featuring core materials like cork and EVA in its visual presentation. Functional areas showcase walls made from Sichuan red sandstone, bamboo, and wood, reflecting a blend of modern and traditional aesthetics. The store includes a limited-time brand workshop for interactive experiences such as DIY crafting and shoe care. Additionally, a four-day exhibition area on the second floor will offer residents a chance to experience the “footbed” concept and engage in natural walking activities on grass and sand.
