With a batch of Model 3 vehicles shipped from the Shanghai South Port Terminal to the UK on September 28, the total number of new energy vehicles exported overseas by Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory officially surpassed 1 million units. Tesla also revealed that construction of its Tesla Energy Storage Gigafactory in Shanghai Lingang is accelerating, with the main plant over 60% complete as of the end of September, and it is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of next year.
