Zegna Opens Third China Concept Store In Hangzhou

400 Square Meter Location In Hangzhou MixC Luxury Mall The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Li Yundi (2nd Right), Patty Hou (2nd Left) and Gildo Zegna (3rd Right) This past weekend, Zegna held a grand opening at Hangzhou's MixC mall for its third mainland China global concept store, the 10th in the world. Designed by Peter Marino, the 400 square meter location is split up into three sections for each of Zegna's brands: Ermenegildo Zegna suits and accessories, Z Zegna, and Z Sport, each of which gets its own distinctive design touches. However, suiting -- and, more specifically, tailoring -- is the star of this location, and Italian tailors were on hand at the opening to give demonstrations of their craft. To go along with the grand opening, Zegna and MixC are hosting a three-week-long exhibition, "500 Handmade Masterpieces" (March 11-29), highlighting Zegna's MTM tailoring technology and the 500 steps the company says it takes to transform raw wool to a tailored garment. At the event, celebrities like the Taiwanese television host Patty Hou (侯佩岑) and classical pianist Li Yundi (李云迪) -- who recently participated in Zegna's Milan Fashion Week program -- took part in a ribbon-cutting. Also in attendance at the event were fourth-generation Zegna CEO Gildo Zegna, who flew in from Milan to celebrate the milestone 10th global concept store.
