Jing Daily 100 launches during Shanghai Fashion Week in October Today we are announcing the inaugural ‘Jing Daily 100,’ launching during Shanghai Fashion Week in October at The St. Regis on the Bund — a celebration of the creatives, executives, investors, founders, and cultural icons who have shaped the evolution of luxury in China. Our coverage has given us a unique vantage point on these innovators, some in the spotlight, others behind the scenes, and the role each has played. There are the executives and marketers behind larger-than-life brand moments – like Louis Vuitton’s megaship landmark “The Louis” in downtown Shanghai, or Maison Margiela’s first-ever runway show outside Paris just last season. Then there are the founders and investors assembling the infrastructure that turns these moments into a thriving industry, across technology, retail, hospitality, and more. There is the steady current of ingenuity, at the hands of consumers across platforms from Xiaohongshu to Douyin, who continually subvert trends, from the recent playful “vegetable aesthetic” to clever consumption hacks like group buying. Entertainers belong here too: actors, musicians, and KOLs who shape cultural narratives and become entry points into consumers’ hearts. Micro-drama stars are the newest example, commanding an audience of 600 million. And of course, there are the designers and artists who, for so long, worked against a global narrative that cast China in the role of consumer rather than a creator. That has changed, fueled by the rise of national pride, and the social media fervor around global trends like “chinamaxxing.”. From independent designers and unicorns like Songmont to sportswear giants and the dominance of C-beauty, Chinese creativity and enterprise now sit at the top of the global tastemaking order. As our editorial team began curating this list, we were reminded that we are the only global publication dedicated solely to covering the luxury market in China and APAC. We pride ourselves on the breadth of our coverage.
