Jing Daily is looking for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager in a time of rapid growth. The main purpose of this role is to assist in driving and increasing traffic to the site through partnerships, collaborations, sponsorships, social media and creative solutions.

The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for developing Jing Daily’s reputation as a “go-to” source for brands and agencies seeking to understand the forces shaping the future of the luxury industry. This role sits within the Sales and Marketing Teams and will play an essential part in the growth strategy of Jing Daily. Major responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of all advertising and sponsorship channels: including Website, Newsletters, WeChat as well as creative solutions
  • Promote Jing Daily via outreach to other blogs, industry influencers, and major news outlets, through commenting, emails, media relations initiatives and other PR techniques
  • Increase Jing Daily’s exposure within the industry by conducting outreach to event organizers listed on our calendar
  • Further promote existing/evergreen content to maximize readership
  • Conduct market research, track, and analyze Jing Daily’s performance
  • Collect and analyze audience data to understand and define target markets; develop specific strategies to promote Jing Daily in each market segment
  • Expand partnership, collaborations, and business outreach both in China and the west.
  • Producing social media content and managing our social media platforms (such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.), which includes but is not limited to updating news related to the Chinese luxury consumer.
  • Coordinate with and provide administrative support to editors and contributors to streamline workflow and optimize efficiency


  • Based in New York
  • Mandarin speaker preferred
  • At least five years of experience
  • An energetic and highly motivated self-starter, with good sense and knowledge on current topics, with excellent presentation and personal skills.
  • An excellent writer, and have highly developed verbal and visual communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with the Chinese social media landscape
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
  • Superior knowledge of common social media platforms and WordPress
  • Exceptionally organized and can balance multiple calendars and deadlines

Jing Daily is seeking an editorial intern to be based out of its New York office. The position will report to the Associate Editor and is a great opportunity for talented students or recent graduates interested in the business side of luxury, fashion, and lifestyle in China. The intern will have the chance to pitch original story ideas and build his/her portfolio, as well as be a part of a fast-growing company that poses endless learning opportunities.

Major responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Identifying relevant China luxury industry topics in the news and on major social media platforms from both Chinese- and English-language sources, pitching the news to Associate Editor to either be part of daily news briefing or a fuller story idea
  • Assist with managing editorial calendar – filling out the days with discussed story ideas
  • Providing research, transcription and fact-checking assistance to editorial team
  • Assist with contacting sources for quotes + expanding source pool — reaching out to new credible companies for case studies, research etc.
  • Writing assigned articles and pitching story ideas (typically 1 written story per week)
  • Uploading stories, photos, and multimedia through WordPress, assisting with SEO fields and formatting, sourcing photos
  • Conduct research on Chinese media, subscribers, and assist the Chinese Content Manager in identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Share ideas and participate in team meetings


  • Excellent written English with web-based writing experience, and ability to read/conduct research in Chinese
  • An interest in luxury, business, and fashion trends in the China market
  • Social-media savvy – experience with Chinese social media such as Sina Weibo and WeChat
  • Passionate for being on the pulse of news, especially news from China, as well as emerging business and consumer trends
  • Available now with a minimum commitment of three months preferred, intern will have a regular, in-office schedule to adhere to with standard working hours
  • Experience with a content management system (especially WordPress) a plus; basic html knowledge a plus
