1. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Jing Daily is looking for a smart, creative and strategic Social Media Manager to help grow the brand’s social footprint across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will have experience in visual storytelling, an entrepreneurial mindset and

the ability to work cross-functionally while managing various projects. They will also have deep knowledge and passion for social activations specific to Luxury, Culture, eCommerce, and Fashion from a global lens, but with a specific focus on China. In addition to this, an interest in digital trends followed by luxury brands doing business in Asia is vital.

Responsibilities

  • Write, schedule, and optimize daily social posts across multiple platforms
  • Contribute to commerce strategy with thoughtful social activations and a creative approach to packaging
  • Commission and edit content with an elevated aesthetic and clear storyboard where appropriate
  • Maintain and communicate defined brand voice, visual aesthetic, and mission to internal and external contact
  • Pitch social angles and social-extension ideas that align with editorial objectives
  • Support Jing events via social distribution including collaboration on visuals, messaging, and calendar management
  • Partner with Analytics lead to improve and refine reach across all social platforms
  • Find and nurture relationships with creators focused on increasing reach and growing brand awareness
  • Work closely with editorial, marketing, and business development team to ideate and execute on social-focused initiatives
  • Manage paid media campaigns across certain platforms to optimize content performance and gain audience growth

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience managing social for a large brand or media publisher
  • Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture Jing Daily’s voice
  • Proven experience hitting key social metrics and skill with scheduling tools desired
  • Analytical understanding, experience with data insights, and a working knowledge of social data tools
  • Ability to work independently, quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to successfully multitask across multiple high priority projects
  • Understanding of social platforms built in reporting: e.g. Facebook business manager, Twitter analytics, etc.
  • Respectful, chill, and thoughtful approach to the work
  • Enthusiasm for understanding and learning about Chinese consumer markets and the business of luxury + fashion
  • Having a defined perspective on the purpose of social and understanding how to use it to reach goals / metrics
  • *Understanding of familiarity of Mandarin is a plus, but not required

2.CONTENT ANALYST

The Jing Group is looking for a smart, experienced Content Analyst. The successful candidate will work with the editorial + social team to develop strategies to drive traffic to the Jing Group’s media properties (Jing Daily, Content Commerce Insider, China Film Insider, Jing Culture & Commerce)
translate data to insight, conduct competitive research, and ultimately scale the global audience. They will also have an inherent interest in understanding consumption in Chinese markets for Luxury, Culture, eCommerce, and Fashion from a global lens. In addition to this, an interest in digital trends followed by luxury brands doing business in Asia is key.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytics reporting across digital channels (site, email, social) and produce data-driven insights + recommendations
  • Help form actionable strategies for audience acquisition, tracking growth, and improved media practices
  • Deployment of basic analytics tracking / functions
  • Use backend reporting of social and site analytics platforms (FB insights, youtube analytics, Google Analytics, IG analytics, etc)
  • Understand and evaluate the competitive landscape of likeminded / alternative publishers in the space
  • Track KPIs, assist in goal-setting, benchmarking, and some paid media strategy
  • Assist in implementation of new audience and content initiatives in new verticals
  • Collaborate with a social lead on strategy for social including FB, Twitter, IG, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Work closely with editorial, marketing, and business development team to ideate and execute on social-focused initiatives
  • Monitor and relay insights related to competitive landscape. Identify comps, opportunities, and strategies for improving digital and media positions

Qualifications

  • 2-3 or more years progressive experience with analytics/data analysis in the eCommerce, media and/or cultural sector
  • Familiarity with basic analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Facebook Insights, Facebook Business Manager, etc)
  • Ability to work well independently, but within a team, and to build relationships and consensus
  • Experience in digital publishing, agency, audience acquisition and/or media
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to fashion, culture, luxury, advertising and the social landscape
  • Ability to successfully multitask across multiple projects
  • Excellent researching, reporting, writing, and communication skills
  • Experienced with fundamentals in Excel and presentation / deck building in Keynote
  • Performance oriented (comfortable with goal setting, performance marketing, and landscape monitoring)

3. EDITOR, BRAND PARTNERSHIP

Jing Daily is the world’s leading cross border media company with editorial prowess across several brands. Our writing more particularly covers retail, financial and content strategies deployed for the Chinese consumer. 

We are bringing together a brilliant team of publishing thinkers to help Jing achieve a bountiful two year company roadmap that expands Jing’s reach, influence and capabilities. Your chief directive will be to inherit, augment and grow the vision, value proposition and customer base of our content and service products. This would include working with our editorial and business development team to drive business opportunities, and explore potential partnerships. You will be involved in all aspects of brand partnership management from outreach and building proposals to managing campaigns. You will also contribute to production of brand partnership articles written by Jing’s editorial team and lead writing of articles as necessary.

The ideal candidate is creative and strategic minded, hyper-collaborative and business driven, with ability to adapt different approaches based on subject matter/market/audience, and with relevant work experience in brand partnership focused writing.

What you’ll do: 

  • Responsible for online & traditional advertising spaces across all of Jing’s media properties 
  • Manage advertising campaigns, build proposals and customize ideas for clients
  • Oversee production of sponsored products including content for articles, webinars, and additional programming 
  • Define and develop new business opportunities with advertisers and agencies, specifically in the fashion and lifestyle verticals
  • Work with the Creative and Editorial teams to successfully manage and execute advertising campaigns from beginning to end
  • Proactively research and update yourself on new online marketing sales trends and ideas

4. EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP

Jing Daily is seeking an Editorial intern to be based out of its New York office. The position will report to the Managing Editor and is a great opportunity for talented students or recent graduates interested in the business side of luxury, fashion, and lifestyle in China. The intern will have the chance to pitch original story ideas and build his/her portfolio, as well as be a part of a fast-growing company that poses endless learning opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying relevant China luxury industry topics in the news and on major social media platforms from both Chinese- and English-language sources, pitching the news to Managing Editor to either be part of daily news briefing or a fuller story idea
  • Assist with managing editorial calendar – filling out the days with discussed story ideas
  • Providing research, transcription and fact-checking assistance to editorial team
  • Assist with contacting sources for quotes + expanding source pool — reaching out to new credible companies for case studies, research etc.
  • Writing assigned articles and pitching story ideas (typically 1 written story per week)
  • Uploading stories, photos, and multimedia through WordPress, assisting with SEO fields and formatting, sourcing photos
  • Conduct research on Chinese media, subscribers, and assist the Chinese Content Manager in identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Share ideas and participate in team meetings

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written English with web-based writing experience, and ability to read/conduct research in Chinese
  • An interest in luxury, business, and fashion trends in the China market
  • Social-media savvy – experience with Chinese social media such as Sina Weibo and WeChat
  • Passionate about being on the pulse of news, especially news from China, as well as emerging business and consumer trends
  • Experience with a content management system (especially WordPress) a plus; basic html knowledge a plus

5. CONTENT MARKETING INTERNSHIP

Jing Daily is looking for a Content Marketing intern to be based out of our New York office. The position will  assist in Jing Daily’s marketing and social media efforts. A business or marketing background is preferred, passion for the luxury market and familiarity with Chinese social media platforms is a plus. The successful candidate will work closely with the managing editor to improve Jing Daily’s media reach.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Translate articles from both English to Chinese and from Chinese to English
  • Assist in data collection and organization efforts, luxury industry reports and events research
  • Ensure all SEO fields are always filled out in WordPress, help with formatting when necessary
  • Social media management, maintaining daily social media activities 
  • Manage and expand Jing Daily’s presence on Chinese social platforms such as WeChat
  • Be on the lookout for post comments / engagement on social media
  • Assist in identifying and researching prospective content partners

6. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Jing Daily is looking for a Business Development intern to assist with Marketing and Sales Outreach in a time of rapid growth. The main purpose of this role is to assist in driving and increasing sales and promotions to agencies and brand clients looking to tap into the China market. The Business Development intern will also be responsible for developing our reputation as a “go-to” source for media on Chinese business, culture and luxury topics while developing our global readership. This role sits within the Business Development and Marketing Teams and will play an essential part in the growth strategy in this team. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of an innovative, fast-moving company, on an exciting journey to further engage a loyal and passionate community.

As an intern, you will gain valuable, on-the-job experience in a fast-paced, creative environment. You will work closely with a small team and report directly to the Publisher.

The internship requires commitment of at least 3 days per week and will start immediately.

7. TRANSLATOR

Jing Daily is currently seeking a part-time translator in our New York office. This position is ideal for a recent graduate who is fluent in Chinese and English. The translator will translate daily news, working closely with our marketing team to improve Jing Daily’s media reach in both China and US markets.

We are looking for a candidate that can commit to 20 hours per week. There would be the opportunity to extend to a full-time position.

Responsibilities: 

  • Translating articles from English to Chinese and Chinese to English
  • Assist with Chinese social media, including Weibo and WeChat 
  • Be on the lookout for post comments / engagement shared to Jing Daily’s official Weibo and WeChat accounts
  • Provide Chinese-language research assistance to contributors  

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with both Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation 
  • Prior English-Chinese translation training is a plus 
  • Ability to translate spoken Chinese in to written English 
  • Strong facility with translations that are both accurate and read well in terms of common usage
  • Experience with WeChat operations 
  • Ability to translate based on marketing context 
  • An interest in  business, luxury, film and travel in the China market a plus 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
