Margiela to sell personal archive in Paris this July

Belgian designer Martin Margiela will oversee a personal archive auction in Paris on July 9 — the first time a living designer has directly managed the sale of their own collection. Organized by Maurice Auction and Kerry Taylor Auctions, the sale features over 200 lots spanning his 1984-2008 career, including Antwerp designs, his Hermès tenure, and iconic Maison Margiela pieces. The collection follows a February 2025 auction that set a French fashion record at 1.889 million euros ($2.03 million). Pieces go on public display in Paris from July 4-8.
