Gap plans 50 new China stores in 2026

Gap plans to open 50 new stores across China in 2026, from tier-one to tier-three cities, following its first quarterly breakeven under Baozun’s ownership. Baozun Chairman and CEO Vincent Qiu said the operational model is now working after several years of restructuring. Store count reached 164 in 2025 after adding 29 new locations, with sales growing more than 20% YoY. Management aims to maintain that pace before potentially accelerating toward 30% over the following two years. Gap also plans to reopen Hong Kong locations later this year.
