Tesla’s new car registrations in Europe fell to 238,656 units in 2025, a YoY decline of 26.9%. Within the EU alone, registrations dropped 37.9%, with market share shrinking from 2.3% in 2024 to 1.4%. The association’s statistics cover the EU, U.K., Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Since 2025, amid sustained pressure on transatlantic relations due to former U.S. President Trump’s renewed tariff threats and geopolitical maneuvers, Tesla’s European sales have weakened significantly. The close relationship between Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is widely seen as a key factor driving consumer resistance to the brand in Europe.
