China, South Korea sign $44M in trade deals

China and South Korea signed $44 million in export deals and 32 memorandums of understanding following President Lee Jae-myung’s summit with President Xi Jinping. South Korea hosted its first export promotion event in Beijing in nine years, drawing around 300 participants including business leaders from Alibaba, JD.com, and Tencent. Twenty-four export contracts worth $44.11 million were signed. A notable deal between Alibaba and Shinsegae Group aims to promote South Korean products, targeting annual transactions exceeding 1 trillion won ($690.6 million) within five years. The economic delegation accompanying Lee included 400 participants from 161 companies, including Samsung, SK, Hyundai, and LG.
