The French government will appeal a Paris court decision that rejected its request for a three-month suspension of Shein in France. The case followed the discovery of childlike sex dolls and banned weapons on Shein’s marketplace. The court called full suspension “disproportionate” but ordered Shein to implement age verification for adult products and set a 10,000 euro ($10,700) fine per violation. Shein welcomed the ruling and said it remains committed to improving controls. The company suspended adult products globally in November. France has also flagged illegal items on AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Joom, and Temu, citing consumer protection and customs concerns.
