Hainan begins island-wide customs operations
Hainan Free Trade Port officially began island-wide special customs operations on December 18, 2025, marking a new development phase. Key policies took effect simultaneously, including tax rules for goods entering, exiting, and circulating within the island, a customs supervision framework, and lists of prohibited or restricted imports and exports. The move initiates deeper institutional integration and higher-level openness. Hainan aims to further expand open sectors.
