Kering CEO Luca de Meo has detailed a strategic plan in an internal memo titled “ReconKering” to restore growth at the French luxury group. The roadmap focuses on streamlining its retail network, decreasing dependence on struggling core brand Gucci, and accelerating internal synergies. De Meo stated the group must adopt a ‘posture of humility’ to become the “undisputed challenger” in luxury over the next five to 10 years. This comes as Kering faces persistent double-digit sales declines at Gucci. The CEO aims to return all brands to growth within 18 months and rebuild financial performance within three years. Kering has already closed 55 stores over the past year.
