Hong Kong millionaires rise 1.2% to 395,000
According to a Citibank Hong Kong study, Hong Kong now has approximately 395,000 individuals with assets of at least HK$10 million ($1.3 million), a 1.2% increase from late 2024, meaning one in every 14 people aged 21-79 qualifies as a US dollar millionaire. On average, these individuals accumulated their first 1 million HKD by age 34, primarily through investments in stocks and funds. Their wealth is almost evenly split between liquid assets (49%) and property (51%). Citibank experts project a moderate 3% rise in Hong Kong residential prices by 2026.
