French luxury house Alaïa has inaugurated its first flagship store in China, located within Beijing’s Sanlitun Taikoo Li shopping district. The two-level boutique, designed by Creative Director Pieter Mulier in collaboration with Swedish architecture studio Halleroed, reflects the brand’s aesthetic of sensuality, minimalism, and sculptural lines. The store’s striking exterior is clad in solid Carrara marble, punctuated by circular and arched windows that reinterpret Alaïa’s signature cut-out motifs. Inside, organic curves contrast against sharp geometric structures. The ground floor showcases leather goods and craftsmanship, while the second floor offers ready-to-wear and accessories in a more intimate setting.
