LVMH’s watch division has agreed to purchase a minority stake in Swiss movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret from Japan’s Citizen Group. The move will enhance LVMH’s access to high-end mechanical and solar-quartz movements for its watch brands, including TAG Heuer, Hublot, and Zenith. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the investment grants LVMH influence in La Joux-Perret’s strategic direction. The manufacturer currently produces approximately 150,000 movements annually, ranging from basic calibers to sophisticated tourbillons and chronographs. A key component of the partnership is La Joux-Perret’s Solargraph technology, developed with TAG Heuer. The solar movement requires just two minutes of sunlight to power a watch for a full day. La Joux-Perret will continue operating independently within the Citizen Group.
