Lululemon sets opening day sales record in Shanghai

Lululemon opened a new store at Shanghai’s Zhenru Universal Harbor Max last week, generating over 1.6 million RMB ($220,000) in sales on its opening day — setting a new single-day sales record for the brand’s store openings in China. The 500 sqm location, now Lululemon’s largest store in Shanghai’s Putuo district, carries the brand’s full range of products for yoga, training, running, and commuting. Popular items like the Define jacket and Scuba hoodie sold out temporarily. The shopping mall supported the launch with promotional activities including double membership points and prize drawings.
