Parkson Retail Group announced the closure of its Beijing Fuxingmen store, effective December 31, 2025. The outlet, which opened in March 1994, was Parkson’s first store in China and once symbolized the modernization of Beijing’s retail landscape. The company attributed the closure to persistent operational losses and strategic restructuring needs. Located in Xicheng District, the Fuxingmen store spans approximately 15,000 sqm. Despite a 2019 renovation, the store continued struggling financially. Parkson currently operates 43 stores across 25 cities in China and will focus on customized, high-quality retail projects tailored to local markets.
