Xiaohongshu adds shopping tab to main interface

Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote, has started testing a new app version that brings e-commerce to the main interface with a “Market” tab added to the bottom navigation bar. Positioned next to “Home,” the page features live shopping, curated buyer picks, and new product launches, using the same dual-column feed format to showcase shoppable notes and livestreams. The platform said products with strong sales, repurchase, and engagement will gain more algorithmic exposure, helping quality merchants grow even without heavy content output. This marks a shift from the “Friendly Market” launched in June, which mainly served as a marketing campaign rather than a unified entry point.
