Stellantis is reportedly considering selling its luxury brand Maserati as part of a broader strategic overhaul, Reuters reports. The review, led by Chairman John Elkann and supported by consulting firm McKinsey, also includes Alfa Romeo and aims to optimize the group’s 14-brand portfolio amid global industry headwinds. While a spokesperson denied that Maserati is up for sale, sources say McKinsey is in early discussions about potential divestment. Maserati’s global deliveries fell over 50% to 14,725 units in 2024, resulting in a loss of 260 million euros ($302 million), driven by weak Grecale sales, slow product updates, and rising competition from Chinese EV makers. Chinese automakers are rumored to be potential buyers.
