Tokyo Disney considers price cuts amid competition

Tokyo Disneyland is considering lowering ticket prices, or narrowing the price range between tiers, as rising living costs make Japanese consumers more price-sensitive. Adult ticket prices on July 8 are 438 RMB ($60) in Tokyo, 719 RMB ($99) in Shanghai, and 639 RMB ($88) in Hong Kong — making Tokyo the most affordable option. Despite some aging facilities, Tokyo Disneyland maintains a strong reputation for service and posted a 124.1 billion Japanese yen ($810 million) profit in FY2024. The park plans major expansions through 2035.
