The Prada Group has announced the acquisition of a 10% stake in Italian leather manufacturer Rino Mastrotto, though financial terms were not disclosed. Patrizio Bertelli, Chairman of the Prada Group, said the investment would allow the company to “strengthen strategic control over its production supply chain.” Rino Mastrotto, owned by private equity firm Renaissance Partners, specializes in high-quality calf and veal leather used across luxury footwear, leather goods, apparel, automotive, and furniture sectors. The partnership marks Prada’s continued push to deepen control over its supply chain, ensuring consistent quality and craftsmanship.
