China launches new five-year ASEAN business visa

China has introduced a new “ASEAN visa” for business travelers and their families from the 10 ASEAN member states and observer Timor-Leste. The visa allows multiple entries over five years, with each stay lasting up to 180 days. Announced by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian this week, the initiative builds on existing visa waiver agreements with countries like Thailand and Malaysia. The move aims to strengthen economic ties and facilitate cross-border travel between China and Southeast Asia, potentially boosting business collaboration and tourism between the regions.
