Dries Van Noten buys Venice palazzo for $45M
Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, who stepped away from the runway last year, has announced the purchase of the 15th-century Palazzo Pisani Moretta on Venice’s Grand Canal. Previously owned by siblings Maurizio and Gerolama Sammartini, the palazzo has long symbolized the family’s deep ties to Venice. While financial details were not disclosed, local media outlet Il Gazzettino estimates the property’s value at 36 million euros ($45 million). In a statement, Van Noten said, “It is an honor to restore and preserve this stunning building, ensuring it remains a living part of the city’s cultural fabric.”
