Hermès unveils Wuyou Garden Shanghai exhibition
Hermès has launched its new themed window display and exhibition, Wuyou Garden (乌有园), created in collaboration with Beijing-based contemporary ink artist Zeng Jianyong. The project, now on view at the Hermès Maison in Shanghai, blends Zeng’s explorations of traditional landscape painting with modern spatial and sculptural forms, transforming the storefront and gallery into an imaginative landscape installation. Known for his contemporary reinterpretations of Chinese ink art, Zeng constructs layered spaces inspired by calligraphy aesthetics, integrating painting, sculpture, and installation. In Wuyou Garden, he extends this approach to create a conceptual utopian landscape. The fourth floor of the Shanghai Hermès Maison hosts a parallel solo exhibition curated by Tang Zehui, running through June 5, 2025. The summer window displays will remain on view until August 14, 2025.
