Chinese team wins H&M sustainability prize
On May 20, the H&M Foundation announced the 10 winners of its 2025 Global Change Award (GCA) yesterday, spotlighting solutions for decarbonizing fashion. Chinese team DecoRpet was selected for its low-temperature decolorization technology. Each winning team receives 200,000 euros ($215,700) and joins a year-long accelerator. Other winners include the UK’s Thermal Cyclones, which cuts energy use by 75%, and Pulpatronics with metal-free RFID paper tags. Since 2015, the GCA has supported 56 innovations with 10 million euros ($10.79 million). Foundation founder Karl-Johan Persson emphasized these innovations offer vital pathways forward for the industry.
