France has announced a new tax on small parcels entering the country, aiming to counter the surge of low-value goods — mostly from China — amid global tariff shifts triggered by U.S. trade policy. Public accounts minister Amelie de Montchalin said the charge will be paid by e-commerce platforms rather than consumers.
