By Far faces legal troubles in China
Bulgarian handbag brand By Far, once popular among Chinese consumers, is facing mounting operational challenges in China. Its local operator, Bofang (Shanghai) Trading Co, was recently listed in a new enforcement action involving 150,000 RMB ($20,700), bringing its total enforced amount in 2024 to 5.31 million RMB ($733,000). The company is also involved in multiple legal disputes. By Far had previously opened its first Asian flagship store at Zhangyuan in Shanghai, which quietly closed last year. Financial issues have affected customer service as well, with users reporting refund difficulties on the brand’s Tmall flagship store. The brand has yet to issue an official statement.
