Bottega Veneta closes 4th China store

Bottega Veneta closed its Chengdu Tianfu International Airport store on March 28, marking the fourth store closure in China last month. The other recent closures comprise locations at Beijing Daxing Airport, Taiyuan Wangfujing, and Chengdu Taikoo Li. According to reports, the shuttered stores were primarily operated by third-party distributors, suggesting the brand may be pivoting toward a direct retail model in the Chinese market. According to the brand, Bottega Veneta is strategically refining its retail footprint through renovations, relocations, select consolidations, and new openings, including a store in Beijing's Sanlitun. Notably, Bottega Veneta was the only Kering brand to post revenue growth in 2024.
