Hyatt announced that the first Thompson Hotel in the Asia-Pacific region is set to open in June in Shanghai’s Pudong Expo area. The property, named Thompson Shanghai Expo, will be the brand’s first in China. Located in the Shanghai World Expo area, the hotel will be within walking distance of the World Expo Cultural Park, China Art Museum, and Mercedes-Benz Arena. The design is inspired by the 2010 Shanghai World Expo pavilions and will include 254 guest rooms and suites, approximately 3,300 sqm of event space, and three food and beverage outlets.
