Rolls-Royce expands bespoke offerings as China market shifts

Rolls-Royce is experiencing a shift in its Chinese customer base, with younger buyers from cities like Shenzhen and Hangzhou driving demand for personalized designs, such as nebula-inspired interiors or their child’s footprint in the car’s details. Zhao Zhen, Rolls-Royce’s regional director for Greater China, highlighted the brand’s growing focus on bespoke offerings, exemplified by the 2023 opening of Private Office Shanghai, dedicated to customization. In 2024, the average value of bespoke commissions rose by 10% compared to 2023. Rolls-Royce is expanding its UK factory to meet rising demand. While the brand sold 5,712 cars in 2024, CEO Chris Brownridge emphasized the company’s focus on craftsmanship rather than volume. Rolls-Royce plans to launch its second pure electric model this year.
